Classes — AION 2
AION 2 has eight named classes in the current global roster: Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Chanter, Cleric, Sorcerer, and SpiritMaster. Compare each official name with its role and current global status. Start by asking what each class does and which combat decision it suggests, not by using an invented tier ranking.

How to read the roster
AION 2 / 01Gladiator is associated with powerful wide-area attacks, making it the clearest entry for a player who wants broad pressure across a group of targets. Templar is the core tank, so its identity is built around holding the front of an encounter. Assassin is precision melee, Ranger is a long-range scout, and Chanter is a versatile support path. These are role descriptions, not promises about a final damage order or a universal party composition.
Cleric is support with improved damage, Sorcerer is high-burst magic, and SpiritMaster is optimized for solo play. Use those roles to choose a test: compare how the class handles positioning, action timing, chains, and survivability in the combat model. That is more useful than copying an AION 2 class tier list that may belong to another region or an earlier version, especially when you are playing the current global service. A role does not tell you which class is strongest; it tells you what kind of repeated decision the class asks you to practice.
All eight names belong to the current global roster that launched on October 5, 2026. That date helps separate the global list from historical or regional discussions. Keep the official spellings, including SpiritMaster as one word, when comparing classes or searching for guides.
Use the compare control
AION 2 / 02The two selectors work with a keyboard and on a phone. Pick a class in Class A and another in Class B; the readout changes immediately, and you can scan the full roster afterward. Only names and roles are compared: stats, cooldowns, gear scores, and a winner are not part of the comparison. This makes the roster easier to scan when you are deciding between Gladiator and Templar or Chanter and Cleric. Use the comparison to narrow the question, then test the chosen role with movement, timing, and chains.
A good comparison question is concrete. If you want wide-area pressure, read Gladiator’s role against the support or tank identity of another class. If you want distance, start with Ranger and apply the positioning principle in combat. If you want a solo-oriented path, SpiritMaster is the named match in the current roster. If you want a support choice, Chanter and Cleric provide two different descriptions instead of one generic healer label.
A class choice remains personal because roles do not assign a universal ranking. Any class uses the same shared mechanics: manual combat, hit confirmation, evasion, positioning, chain skills, and up to five Stigma slots. Choose a class for its role, then use those mechanics to decide what you want to practice.
Popular class searches, grounded
AION 2 / 03When you search for “AION 2 Gladiator,” “Chanter AION 2,” “AION 2 Ranger,” or “AION 2 Templar,” start by identifying the class’s current role before looking for a build. Gladiator is the wide-area attacker, Chanter is versatile support, Ranger is the long-range scout, and Templar is the core tank. That gives you a meaningful starting frame even before a detailed skill or equipment set is available.
The current global roster names Ranger, not Archer, as the long-range scout. For an “AION 2 archer build,” first check whether Ranger is the class you mean. The same caution applies to community names and regional terminology: use the official class names, then follow the combat principles instead of forcing an outside taxonomy onto the game.
Choose the class whose decisions you want to repeat. The game’s movement model and manual combat make positioning, timing, and chains part of the identity, while the class descriptions tell you where each path puts its emphasis. After that, choose a faction-compatible server and an Expedition or PvP activity that will test the role. A class decision becomes concrete when the activity gives the role a job to perform.
Keep Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Chanter, Cleric, Sorcerer, and SpiritMaster in the class field when reading guides and search results, then describe the player task in ordinary terms. A “Ranger build” is easier to evaluate when long-range scouting is connected to positioning, evasion, and chain skills. A support search is clearer when it distinguishes Chanter from Cleric instead of putting both under an empty healer label. That makes the first decision legible before a later patch changes the surrounding details. Use the same naming in a group plan so players know whether the task is pressure, tanking, scouting, support, burst, precision, or solo play.
